Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho’s agent has denied suggestions that the Frenchman will be leaving Anfield.
The Reds centre-back has been linked with a move to Roma, with questions growing over his relationship with Klopp after Sakho was sent home from their pre-season tour of America.
But Sakho’s agent, Niakate Housseyni, has denied any rumours, according to Laroma24.IT:
“I’ve not had any contact with Roma. He’s a Liverpool player and I don’t think Roma have any chance [of signing him] at the moment.”
Sakho will miss the start of the Premier League season due to injury, but was included in the tour of the United States by Klopp, with the German manager wanting to keep the squad together, even if players were unavailable to train.
But the 26-year-old was sent back to Melwood with concerns over his behaviour and punctuality. Sakho missed the end of last season, with UEFA investigating him over a potential banned substance being taken. He was cleared of any wrong doing.
But his injury means he won’t be on the field when Liverpool travel to Arsenal on August 14th.
