Liverpool deny talk of £9.5m deal

Liverpool have denied that Lyon defender Aly Cissokho is on the verge of a £9.5m move to club, reports the Daily Mail.

The France international has been linked with the club all summer with Liverpool publicly stating their intentions to sign a left back, but a move for 23-year-old Cissokho has been debunked with Lyon valuing the player at around the £16 million mark.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has been searching for a left back since returning to the helm at Anfield and has also seen a move for Newcastle’s Jose Enrique fail to materialise.

With Glen Johnson set to start the season in the position, despite being a right back, it means Dalglish will want to bring in a specialist left back before the transfer window slams shut.
