Liverpool are believed to have entered the race with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League trio are all interested in the services of Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk, Express reports.
With Brendan Rodgers suffering a string of devastating loses so far this season, it is said that he is now trying to solve his squad’s troubles by reinforcing his back line.
If he is to sign the highly rated Dutch centre-back, the Reds will need to go head to head in a bidding war with both the Gunners as well as Tottenham.
The 23-year-old is also tipped to be keen on a switch to the Premier League and with so much interest for the player, it is likely that Celtic will be receiving offers well above his original price tag.
Van Dijk has featured in 14 of his teams 16 league matches this season, scoring two goals and was also previously linked with a possible move to Old Trafford in the summer.
