Liverpool are considering a move to sign Schalke star Ralf Fahrmann to provide competition for under-fire ace Simon Mignolet, TransferMarketWeb reports.
The 27-year-old is now being eyed as another potential goalkeeping candidate following recent criticism of the Anfield number one.
Mignolet was blasted after letting an easy shot from Manchester City star Fernandinho slip under him as his side eventually fell to a penalty defeat in Capital One Cup final.
Fahrmann’s arrival could also see second choice selection Adam Bogdan leave the club after failing to make an impression since joining from Bolton during the summer window.
The Bundesliga outfits sees the keeper as their current number one, but he could be the subject of an offer given that he is only being valued at around the £5.7million region.
Should he decide to join the club, he can even overtake Mignolet to a regular role if he can prove his quality to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp upon his potential arrival.
He has already featured 33 times in all competitions for his side term, so far managing to keep 14 clean sheets in the process.
