Liverpool eye striker deal following Tottenham disagreement

Liverpool are set to step up their chase for Fulham star Moussa Dembele following a disagreement with Tottenham Hotspur, Express reports.

The 19-year-old recently agreed a transfer to make a switch to White Hart Lane in January, but talks broke down after Tottenham refused to let him be loaned back to Craven Cottage.

He has attracted interest from a host of clubs in recent months given that he will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

French newspaper L’Equipe claims that the Reds are now keen to make a move for his services as manager Jurgen Klopp steps up his chase to sign another striker.

The future of Christian Benteke is currently in doubt following revelations that he was unhappy with his limited role at Anfield this season.

Dembele has already featured 39 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score 14 goals while providing another five assists.
