Jurgen Klopp looks set to sign Jonas Hector as a replacement for Alberto Moreno, according to the Daily Express.
The Liverpool manager has regularly been linked with signing players from the Bundesliga, since his arrival in the Premier League, and the £12 million rated Hector could be one of Klopp’s first summer additions. Alberto Moreno has failed to prove that he can cope with the defensive demands of the Premier League.
The Koln defender has been named in the Germany squad for their upcoming international fixtures and he may well end up starting against England this evening.
Hector has a contact until 2018 and the Express believe that it will cost Liverpool somewhere between £10 and £12 million if they want to sign the German.
Whilst Liverpool look to increase their defensive security, there will surely be plenty of other rumours surrounding Klopp’s summer transfer dealings before there are any official arrivals. Jon Flanagan’s Liverpool career, despite recently signing a new contract, will be under threat if Hector arrives.
