Liverpool star James Milner has backed manager Brendan Rodgers to get his side back on track following a close fought 3-2 win over Aston Villa, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 29-year-old is currently serving as captain due to the absence of Jordan Henderson, who is still recovering from a broken bone in his foot.
He also scored the opening goal for his side and is currently regarded as a key midfielder for his boss since his arrival from Manchester City during the summer.
Milner praises Rodgers for his patience as well as the club’s forward line for their qualities as he looks to help his team move higher up the table.
“With patience he has shown he’s a top-class manager and with the players we have, we can get to where we want to be,” he said.
“We have some great options. Christian Benteke is injured unfortunately, but I think the mix of strikers we’ve got is very good.”
The Reds are currently sitting in eight place in the Premier League, but are only five points behind Manchester United in first.
