Liverpool looks to have been dealt a blow in their efforts to reinforce their front lines after West Bromwich Albion released a statement denying any links between them and Saido Berahino, Daily Star reports.
The 21-year-old is currently a target for a number of Premier League sides with Brendan Rodgers believed to be in pole position to acquire his services in January given West Brom’s struggling form.
In light of a potential departure, WBA announced on Twitter that Berahino will not be leaving to join the Reds and that the entire event is just pure speculation.
The message read: “Ok time to clear a few things up. One final time, this Berahino to @LFC story for £23m is and always has been an entire fabrication…”
Rodgers side isn’t the only one interested in the striker as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be in the chase for his signature.
