Liverpool in for two Man City stars

Liverpool will look to return to the Champions League qualification spots next season, and are hoping to land Manchester City’s James Milner and Stevan Jovetic in order to do so, that is according to the Daily Star.

The England international is out of contract at the end of the season, and with the change in regulations regarding homegrown players, Rodgers will see the former Leeds United midfielder as the perfect man to keep the Reds quota up.

Jovetic has found chances hard to come by under Manuel Pellegrini – he has only made nine Premier League starts this campaign – and the forward was even omitted from City’s Champions League squad to make room for January addition Wilfried Bony.

Rodgers will hope the striker can rediscover his Fiorentina goalscoring form as the Liverpool gaffer still continues to search for a replacement to Luis Suarez’s goals having seen Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli flop.
