Liverpool join Premier League champions in race to sign Man United target

Liverpool have joined Chelsea and Manchester United in the race to sign Red Star Belgrade ace Marko Grujic, Express reports.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a host of European elites in recent months, while Serie A giants Inter Milan remain favourites to acquire his signature.

It is believed that scouts from the Anfield club were present to watch the displays of the central midfielder in a 7-2 league win over Cukaricki and was even said to have met the player along with his agent after the match.

Should the Reds step up their chase, it is expected that they must pay around the £3million region for his services and could then send him back to his current club to further his development.

United were considering a move for his services earlier while Blues star Nemanja Matic is also trying to lure his fellow countryman to Stamford Bridge.

In addition to that, former Inter star Dejan Stankovic is now a scout with the Italian side and is also keeping a close eye on the movements of the Serbian midfielder.
