Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Thomas Muller from Bayern Munich, according to reports from the Metro.
Muller was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, but a transfer failed to materialize after a £75million price tag was put on the attacker.
However, according to German publication Bild, Muller has yet to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga champions, alerting both United and Liverpool to monitor the situation.
Yet Bayern executives have urged interested parties to stop making offers for the Germany international, despite a new German link in Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
The 26-year-old still has four years remaining on his current contract, but Muller is held in such high regard at the Allianz Arena that the club want a new deal sorted as soon as possible.
Muller has been in incredible form this season, scoring 19 goals in 20 games.
