Liverpool have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino, according to reports from the Express.
Berahino has been heavily linked with a move away from the Hawthornes since the summer, with Spurs extremely keen on the England U-21 international.
However, a move broke down as Tottenham were unwilling to match the Baggies’ asking price, frustrating the player as well as both parties.
With the transfer market reopened, the Lilywhites are likely to test West Brom’s resolve once again, but the Reds are now also interested in his signature.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp sees Berahino as the perfect solution to Daniel Sturridge, with the German now considering to sell the often-injured striker for a more consistent option.
Berahino has warmed the bench for much of the campaign, but when given the chance has performed to remind suitors of his abilities.
The 22-year-old made 45 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 20 goals.
