Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes that there is no way Steven Gerrard will move to Manchester City and also revealed that he hopes to see the club skipper at Anfield next season, Mirror reports.
The 34-year-old will have played out his contract at the end of this season and is yet to extend his stay, prompting speculation that he could be on his way towards an exit.
In light of this, City are said to be monitoring his situation as they hope they can negotiate a similar deal which saw Chelsea star Frank Lampard join them in the summer ahead of his move to America.
“If Stevie was to move I’m sure it wouldn’t be to another English club. I hope that doesn’t happen,” Aldridge said.
“For me, he’s Liverpool’s best player of all time and will still be there next season. He’s a leader in the dressing room and on the pitch.”
