Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has revealed that he is open to seeing Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho take over at his former side, according to reports from the Express.
The 35-year-old is currently playing for LA Galaxy in the MLS after leaving his boyhood club at the end of the previous campaign.
In a recent interview, Gerrard admitted that he was keen to work with Mourinho and also hinted that the Blues manager would be a good fit for his former side.
“Who knows? Who knows?” he told the BBC.
“Why wouldn’t he [be a good fit]?
“He’s one of the best managers in the world, so of course he would be a good fit.”
The Reds have been struggling in recent weeks following a poor run of form, with current boss Brendan Rodgers’ job under heavy scrutiny from the club board.
Former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked with his role in recent months, but Rodgers insist that he is can get the squad back on track.
His side are currently ninth in the Premier League, winning three, drawing two, and losing another two matches so far this term.
