Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is urging the Reds to spend £20million to bring Swansea City star Wilfried Bony to Anfield, Express reports.
Bony was heavily linked with a move away from the Liberty after an impressive first season in the Premier League, in which he scored 25 goals in all competitions.
The Ivory Coast international was once again on target in the Swans’ 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher hopes that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will do all he can to sign Bony in the January transfer window.
Carragher said in regards to Bony: “I hope Liverpool sign him.
“If Liverpool sign [Mario] Balotelli for £16m, Bony is worth £20m or £25m.
“I wish Liverpool got him this summer and I hope they’re looking at him in the future.”
Liverpool succumbed to a terrible 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday, putting Rodgers under huge pressure to turn the season around in January.
The Reds will however have to move quick for Bony, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City also interested in his services.
