Liverpool look set to miss out on the signing of Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka to Inter Milan, according to the Metro.
The Ukraine international has been linked with a move to Liverpool since the club missed out on his signature on the last January transfer deadline day.
Despite the Reds spending over £100million on new signings in the summer, reports continued to link the Merseyside club with a move for the 24-year-old.
Dnipro have so far been reluctant to let the winger leave, but reports suggest they are looking to sell in January so as to avoid him leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
And now it looks as though Inter Milan are set to pip the Reds to his signature, having been told they can land him for a fraction of his £18million asking price.
Brendan Rodgers spent big on attacking midfielders in the summer, bringing in the likes of Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic for a combined price of £45million, but he may well have been tempted to land a former target for a cut price figure.
