Liverpool are likely to miss out on the signing of Barcelona loanee Alex Song after West Ham United are tipped to make his move permanent, Mirror reports.
The 27-year-old will have the option of signing for the Hammers at the end of this season, but Brendan Rodgers is still monitoring his situation in hopes he can instead lure him to Anfield.
Song is yet to make a final decision in regards to his future as he revealed his intentions to play in the Champions League and will only name his new club at the end of the current campaign.
Sam Allardyce will surely be interested in retaining his services given as it is believed the club have already lined up an offer to make sure he continues his stay in London.
The former Arsenal midfielder has overcome his role as a Barca back up into a key squad member under Allardyce and is part of the team’s revival which now sees them sit seventh in the league.
