Liverpool are set to lose Joao Carlos Teixeira, currently on loan with Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion, this summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.
Teixeira is having a break-out season for The Seagulls, earning rave reviews for his performances under manager Chris Hughton.
In his 27 outings, the youngster has scored six goals from midfield, while providing another three assists in England’s second-tier league.
And although Teixeira is likely to return to Liverpool at the end of the season, the 22-year-old is still unsure that he will be able to break into the Reds’ star studded squad, despite him dreaming of playing in the Premier League with the Merseyside club.
He said: “It’s really difficult because Liverpool are a big club with great players, but you dream of playing Premier League football with Liverpool.
“I really want that and I’m going to work for it but you never know what’s going to happen in the future.
“Of course I would see Brighton as an option, I like everything here. I like the city and it’s really nice living here.
“The facilities are great, the training ground is new, the stadium is brilliant and the fans always fill the stadium so it’s great.”
Liverpool have been in incredible form after the turn of the year, winning eight out of their last ten games – in which they are undefeated.
This has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side climb up the table to fifth, only two points off the final Champions League spot with Manchester United sitting in fourth.
