Inter Milan are planning a move to sign Lucas Leiva from Liverpool during the upcoming January window with hopes of reigniting his career after very limited playing time at Anfield, Talksports reports.
The 27-year-old old midfielder has only made five league appearances this season as the Serie A giants are closely monitoring his situation in their bids to replace Esteban Cambiasso who recently joined Leicester City.
Roberto Mancini is already familiar with what Lucas has to offer after his time managing Manchester City as he sees him as a top target to reinforce his squad.
However, he is not alone in the search for the out-of-favour anchorman after former Reds manager Rafael Benitez is also believed to be keeping a close eye on the Brazilian for his Napoli squad.
In recent campaigns, he was a regular face in the starting eleven, but injuries forced him to miss a host of matches as he now has to once again prove his worth to Brendan Rodgers.
