Liverpool are believed to be closing in on a deal for Juventus star Martin Caceres as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to reinforce his squad, according to Calciomercato, as reported by the Metro.
The 28-year-old defender will see his contract with the Serie A champions end in the summer as they look to agree a pre-contract agreement with the defender.
Once Caceres agrees the terms of the proposed deal, the Reds will be able to sign him when the current campaign comes to a close.
Apart from the Anfield side, Inter Milan and Fenerbahce were also said to be monitoring his situation, but could lose out to the Premier League club.
He has been given very limited game time with the Italian giants this term, so far featuring in only three league matches.
Klopp is very keen to add more defensive players into his ranks after a number of his first-team stars are unavailable for selection due to injury.
