Liverpool are planning a surprise move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to the Daily Star.
Ter Stegen only moved from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer for £9.7million, however has seen his first team chances limited playing second fiddle to Claudio Bravo.
The German ace has therefore become a target for several clubs, with Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United interested in his services.
However reports from Spain suggests that Liverpool are the most keen on the 22-year-old, with manager Brendan Rodgers seeing Ter Stegen as a replacement to Simon Mignolet.
Ter Stegen has already revealed he is having a tough time at the Nou Camp, but is willing to fight to become the club’s number-one for the time being.
“It’s good to be at Barca but the situation is difficult. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t care and it isn’t easy being a spectator,” he German publication Sport Bild.
“I want to be the No. 1 and I’m convinced that’s something that will happen if I continue to improve and work hard.
“I can only try to prove that I am the best [of the two goalkeepers] and that’s why I came here, so it’s something I will fight for.”
