Liverpool are considering a move to sign Asier Illarramendi from Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window, according to reports from the Metro.
The 25-year-old has been finding it very difficult to earn himself a regular role under manager Carlo Ancelotti ever since his switch from Real Sociedad back in 2013.
Arsenal have also declared interest in the central midfielder, but it is believed that the Reds have already tabled an offer to convince him towards a move to Anfield.
Aside from the Spanish ace, the club are also linked with a move for his team-mate Isco, who is being tipped to leave in search of a more secure role.
Madrid are said to value him at around the £23million region, but it is likely he could be sold for a lower fee given that he joined the European champions for around the same price.
Illarramendi has only featured in seven La Liga starts, while appearing as a substitute a further 17 times, a factor that is pushing him towards an exit from the Bernabeu.
