Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic is being eyed by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, that is according to reports in the Mirror.
Jovetic is fully expected to leave the Etihad Stadium when the summer transfer window opens after being omitted from City’s Champions League squad following Wilfried Bony’s move from Swansea City in January. The Ivorian’s arrival saw Jovetic fall further down the pecking order with Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero favoured by Manuel Pellegrini.
Inter Milan and Juventus are keen to bring the striker back to Serie A, however, Brendan Rodgers is confident he will be able to convince the Montenegrin international to give the Premier League one more go.
The former Swansea manager is looking to add to his firepower following last summer’s signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert only managing seven goals between them – three in the Premier League.
Jovetic, who cost the Citizens £22million in 2013, has eight Premier League goals from 28 appearances (11 starts).
