Liverpool are preparing to make a £37.6million offer to sign Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze this month, according to reports from the Metro.
Gotze has been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena in recent weeks, with the attacking midfielder struggling for regular playing time under manager Pep Guardiola.
And his frustrations have alerted the Reds, who are desperate to add some new players amid their current injury crisis with no less than 13 first team stars sidelined.
The Germany international spark speculation he could join Liverpool after he admitted that he loves working under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp when they were both at Borussia Dortmund a few years ago.
However, Gotze will not come cheaply, with Bayern demanding £37.6million to facilitate a deal.
The 23-year-old is hoping to have a more consistent run of games in the second half of the campaign, or he could risk losing a place in the Germany squad for Euro 2016.
Gotze has only made 11 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring four goals.
