Liverpool are close to agreeing a £17.8million deal to sign Hoffenheim star Roberto Firmino, according to reports from the Express.
Firmino has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club after an impressive season, with Manchester United also extremely keen on the attacker.
But, it seems that the Reds are in pole position to sign the Brazil international, who is currently competing for his country in the Copa America.
After a dismal campaign, Kop manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to sign Firmino to help provide a consistent source of goals with the likes of Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, and Rickie Lambert all failing to do so last season.
And reports suggest that Liverpool are nearing an agreement worth £17.8million, with a five-year contract ready to be signed by the 23-year-old.
The Reds have been extremely busy during the summer, already sealing deals for Manchester City’s James Milner, Burnley striker Danny Ings, and Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, all on free transfers.
