Liverpool are ready to join their local rivals Everton in the race to sign Andrea Ranocchia from Inter Milan, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 27-year-old was linked with a switch to Goodison Park during the summer, but negotiations broke down as they are likely to reignite interest in the January window.
However, newly appointed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on adding more options in his defence and has made the Italy international one of his targets.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss is believed to have been monitoring the services of the centre-back ever since he was in charge of his previous club.
Apart from the Toffees and Liverpool, he is also being tracked by Galatasaray, AC Milan, Roma, and Tottenham Hotspur.
He featured 42 times in all competitions for Inter last season, scoring two goals, and has played five out of a possible seven Serie A matches this term.
