Liverpool are preparing to table a £5million offer for Barcelona star Dani Alves in hopes of reinforcing their wing back position, Daily Star reports.
It is believed that the Brazilian right back is open to a move away from the Camp Nou after serving the side for eight trophy-laden years.
With his contract set to expire in a years time, the Catalan club’s new manager Luis Enrique wants to cash in before he is allowed to leave for free.
Brendan Rodgers has already reinforced his central defensive roles, but is still keen in adding extra cover to his defensive outlets and sees Alves as the perfect candidate to compete with both Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan.
However, with Atletico Madrid’s Javier Manquillo set for a medical to complete his Anfield loan, the 31-year-old is likely to be seen as a back up should the move break down.
