Liverpool & Spurs miss out on strike ace

Liverpool and Tottenham look to have missed out on Burnley’s Danny Ings, with reports from The Express claiming the striker has agreed a pre-contract deal with Real Sociedad.

The Clarets hit-man fired 21 goals to help his side achieve promotion to the top tier last season and has since adapted well to Premier League life.

Liverpool were last week linked with a swoop for the 22-year-old, while Spurs are believed to be long-term admirers of the player, whose contract is up in under six months’ time.

However, David Moyes’ Socieded seem to have won the race by agreeing a deal to sign him at the end of the season.

Ings could switch to Spain for a compensation fee – due as he’s under the age of 24 – when his deal expires.

The forward has represented England at U-21 level and has been lauded for his finishing ability and hard-working playing style.
