As reported on their official club website, Lucas Leiva has backed Roberto Firmino to continue his fine goal scoring form.
Firmino has been the most productive Premier League player in 2016 and scored a crucial goal as Liverpool beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Europa League earlier in the week.
Leiva spoke of how well Firmino has settled in at the club as he received the Liverpool player of the month award after several good performances at centre-back. The Brazilian midfielder is now 29 and he is expecting to return to first-team football soon after picking up an injury to his quadricep.
Firmino has settled in well under Jurgen Klopp and the former Hoffenheim forward has been one of the best players in Europe during this calender year. His goal against Manchester United has capped a very impressive start to 2016 and it is not surprise that Lucas is so impressed with his team mate and compatriot.
