Liverpool star Jordan Henderson has claimed that the Reds can beat any team in the Premier League after their dramatic 3-2 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, according to the Daily Mail.
Reds summer signing Mario Balotelli stepped off the bench to settle the tie in the 83rd minute, helping the Merseyside club to within three points off the last Champions League spot.
Brendan Rodgers’ side went into an early lead when Lazar Markovic’s rather soft attempt slipped through the hands of Hugo Lloris, but not long after Spurs equalised via in-form striker Harry Kane.
Right after half-time, Daniel Sturridge’s quick footwork inside the box earned Liverpool a penalty which was duly converted by Steven Gerrard.
However once again the Lilywhites made it all square when Moussa Dembele turned in a Harry Kane cross, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men couldn’t hold on with Balotelli getting the winner.
And with Liverpool having won four out of their last five league games, club vice captain Jordan Henderson is adamant that they are capable of beating any side in the English top flight.
“We always feel we can beat anyone if we keep playing the way we have been,” he told BT Sport.
“We’ve got some fantastic players here so we’ve just got to keep working hard on the training field and getting results like that.
“We’ve got a little momentum, we’ve been playing some great stuff and I thought we showed great character tonight.”
The Reds face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this weekend in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
