Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that international team-mate Marcus Rashford has been brilliant this season for Manchester United and has a bright future ahead of him.
The teenage sensation got his first taste of international football last night against Australia and wasted little time making an impact, with the Red Devils’ starlet scoring the opening goal within three minutes.
Rashford’s amazing arrival at Old Trafford has seen Roy Hodgson include the young forward in his provisional squad for Euro 2016, with plenty calling on the sensation to be included in the Three Lions final group instead of Daniel Sturridge.
Henderson is back fit and firing, with the Reds midfielder looking likely to start for England in France.
The former Sunderland playmaker stated that Rashford deserves his chance at international level and his goal against Australia could well be the start of something special for the teenager.
“He’s been brilliant for United all season and coming in here, [he had] no fear,” Henderson is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.
“Within, I don’t know how long it was, but it was early, he gets his first goal for England. Over the moon for him. We all feel that can be the start of something special for him.”
England have Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney as other attacking options.
