Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge has sustained another injury while training before their 2-1 Europa League win over Bordeaux on Thursday, according to reports from the Mirror.
Sturridge was recovering from a knee problem and was set to be on the bench for their European clash against Bordeaux, but the England international picked up a foot problem in training and was immediately sent for scans at the hospital.
The Reds came back from a goal down to beat the Ligue-1 side 2-1, with James Milner scoring from the spot and Christian Benteke grabbing the winner with a brilliant half volley.
However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is clearly frustrated with Sturridge’s situation, as the German had no clue the 26-year-old was unavailable because he joined the rest of the team in their pre-match meal.
“I can’t say so much about this because he trained in the morning, then we went to the hotel and Daniel was with us,” he said.
“And then he had to leave to go for a scan. At this moment I cannot say more, we have to wait for the results.”
Sturridge has an incredible record of missing 72 out of the 144 Liverpool games since he arrived at Anfield from Chelsea in 2013.
