Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho believes his side can still win the Premier League despite a number of disappointing results in recent weeks, Express reports.
The 23-year-old has been one of the standout performers for his club so far this season, but his team are now going through a slight slump.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has failed to pick up a win in his last four matches in all competitions following their 6-1 League Cup victory over Southampton earlier this month.
His side have now lost to Newcastle United and Watford, while picking up another two draws against Sion and West Bromwich Albion.
Despite their recent run of results, Coutinho believes the Reds can still make a comeback and challenge for at least one trophy this season.
“Now I hope to be able to help the team win trophies, it’s very important to keep battling,” he said.
“We’re in a very good position. It’s the goal of everyone involved, we’re all focused on fighting for the trophies and I think we have a great chance in the competitions we’re in this year.
“We’re going to fight for that and I hope we win a trophy this year.”
They are currently sitting ninth on the table with five points separating them from Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place, but are still trailing behind leaders Leicester City by 14 points.
