The Daily Mail have today insinuated that key Liverpool attacker Raheem Sterling has turned down a new £100,000 per week contract with the Merseyside club, alerting his suitors ahead of a potential summer move.
The England international has been in sublime form for Brendan Rodgers’ men over the last year and is widely acknowledged as one of Europe’s best young players.
With Sterling’s current deal at Anfield expiring in the summer of 2017, the Reds are keen to offer the sprightly forward a new contract to ensure his future.
However, the youngster is said to have turned down Liverpool’s latest deal, thought to include wages of £100,000 per week and instead wants to focus on his football for the rest of the season.
With Sterling’s future unclear, the report states that both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on the England international and could well launch summer bids for the star at the end of 2014-15.
