Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne has stated that his side can win the Premier League this season following their positive start to the new campaign.
Jurgen Klopp has added a number of impressive new faces to the Reds squad this summer and the Merseyside outfit have been excellent in the early games of the new season.
Wins away to Arsenal and Chelsea have been complemented by a 4-1 humbling of champions Leicester at Anfield and the Merseyside outfit look ready to challenge for a top-four berth at the very least.
Clyne has made the right-back slot his own since moving to Liverpool from Southampton and has been a part of the successful start to the new season under Klopp.
The England international remained optimistic when asked if the Reds could defy the odds and become English champions this season.
“I don’t see why not. We’ve got the squad of players to fight for the title, Clyne told Sky Sports.
“If we keep playing how we are then hopefully we can be in amongst it at the end of the season.”
Liverpool host Hull City in their second home game of the new Premier League game of the season today and will hope for three more points to fire them towards the table’s summit.
