Liverpool ace Glen Johnson looks set to leave the club when his contract comes to an end this summer, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The Reds right-back is looking for a new club to help get his career back on track, and is now free to negotiate pre-contract arrangements with over-sea sides.
Johnson is reportedly keen to follow in the footsteps of Ashley Cole, who made a move to Serie A giants Roma at the end of last season.
And while the capital club are also interested in the English defender, Johnson will consider staying in the Premier League if the right offer comes his way.
His agent Jonathan Barnett revealed that the 30-year-old wants to play somewhere to ‘turn around his career’, which suggests that despite Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers hoping he’ll stay, his future won’t be at Anfield.
“He’s obviously looking for things at the moment. He’s looking at many clubs,” Barnett said.
“Glen is obviously looking for somewhere where he can turn around his career. That’s the most important thing for him. (Somewhere) where he can play nicely under a good club that’s challenging for things. That is where he wants to be.”
Johnson has played in 21 games for the Reds this season, scoring one goal.
