New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been handed another injury blow after it has been revealed that £32.5million striker Christian Benteke wil be sidelined for this weekend’s fixture, according to reports from the Express.
Klopp was recently appointed as the Reds new boss after the sacking of Brendan Rodgers, and the German will lead his team out for his first game against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund gaffer will be without Benteke, who has failed to recover from a hamstring problem he picked up against Norwich City last month.
This means that Klopp is expected to start Daniel Sturridge, who himself has only returned from an injury a few weeks ago.
Klopp will also be without England U21 defender Joe Gomez, who is set to miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament while on international duty.
