Liverpool have been dealt a setback in their chase to sign Juventus star Carlos Tevez after he revealed his intentions of a return to former side Boca Juniors, Talksport reports.
The 31-year-old will see his contract expire at the end of the upcoming campaign and is now being tipped to leave the Serie A winners in the summer.
A number of clubs have been alerted by his revelations to leave Italy ahead of the transfer window, with Liverpool said to be keeping a close eye on the Argentina international.
However, despite interest from a number of European teams, Tevez is believed to be favouring a return to his boyhood club.
He started his football career with Boca Juniors before completing moves to West Ham United, Manchester United, and Manchester City in the Premier League.
The striker has been in remarkable form this past season, featuring 48 times in all competitions, scoring a total of 29 goals while providing a further 10 assists.
