Liverpool will be sweating over the fitness of club captain Jordan Hernderson ahead of their next clash against Arsenal, according to reports from the Express.
Henderson was integral to the Reds’ second win of the season, setting up Christian Benteke for the only goal against Bournemouth on Monday.
However, the England international limped off the pitch in the 51st minute with a foot problem, forcing him to undergo scans.
And it has been revealed that the 25-year-old was already struggling with the injury prior to their 1-0 victory, and was only able to play after the medics applied painkillers.
Although Liverpool are confident he has not broken his metatarsal, the former Sunderland star may need to be rested to avoid any long-term injury.
This will come as a major blow for manager Brendan Rodgers, who is looking to make it three wins on the trot after a disappointing 7th place finish last season.
Henderson made 54 appearances in all competitions the previous campaign, scoring seven goals.
