Manchester United have confirmed that former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes will be training with the squad despite being linked with a switch to Liverpool, Skysports reports.
The 32-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving the La Liga giants and is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament injury which saw him sidelined throughout the summer, missing a World Cup spot with Spain.
It is said that Louis van Gaal has offered Valdes to continue his rehabilitation process with the club as medical staff will be keeping a close on on his recovery.
A statement read: “Valdes will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness.”
However, United have not talked about their intentions to sign the keeper upon his recovery as they currently have Anders Lindegaard as the second choice man behind David De Gea.
