Liverpool target staying put after signing new deal

Liverpool target Ben Chilwell has signed a new deal at Leicester City.

The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with the Reds, but has instead decided to sign a new five year contract with the Premier League champions, which has been announced on the Leicester City official website.

Whilst the wing-back didn’t feature in the Premier League for the Foxes, he did play in the the two FA Cup fixtures against Spurs last year, and has represented England at Under-21 and Under-23 levels.

Chilwell also spent part of last season on lan at Huddersfield Town, making 8 appearances, keeping three clean sheets.

The deal was signed at their training base in L.A, where City are taking part in the International Champions Cup. The 19-year-old featured in the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park earlier this month, scoring in the penalty shoot-out.

Liverpool are reportedly looking for a new left-back to rival Alberto Moreno, but will now have to turn their attention away from the English youngster.
