Liverpool are hoping to complete a January deal for Queens Park Rangers ace Steven Caulker who is currently on loan at Southampton, Express reports.
The 24-year-old completed his move to St Mary’s Stadium during the summer after agreeing a season long loan deal with the club.
However, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is now looking to sign him on loan for the remainder of the campaign after he struggled to hold down a regular role under Saints boss Ronald Koeman.
Klopp is currently struggling to field his best squad given that a number of his first-choice players are out with injuries.
He hopes to lure Caulker to Anfield in order to ease pressure off his defensive selection given that Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren, and Matin Skrtel are still out with a knock.
Sakho is tipped to recover in time and potentially join Kolo Toure against Arsenal tomorrow while Lovren is still a doubt ahead of their clash with Manchester United at the weekend.
