Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly identified Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater as a potential summer target and will make a move for the England international this summer, according to The Mirror.
The former Manchester United playmaker was an essential member of the Foxes’ side that romped their way to the Premier League title in 2015-16, forming a formidable partnership with N’golo Kante in the heart of the King Power Stadium outfit’s midfield.
Drinkwater has been included in Roy Hodgson’s provisional squad for the Euro 2016 tournament and is being tipped in some corners to make the starting XI for the Three Lions this summer in France.
Liverpool are set to revamp their squad in Klopp’s first pre-season in charge at Anfield, with a host of players expected to leave and a new contingent to arrive at the Merseyside club.
Drinkwater has become an essential member of Leicester’s side and as such Claudio Ranieri’s men would surely be reluctant to part company with the all-action star.
