Liverpool are set to give summer signing Loris Karius his Premier League debut against Hull City later today after the German goalkeeper returned to fitness, The Telegraph state.
Jurgen Klopp was keen to bolster his squad over the summer and returned to land a number of players from the Bundesliga over the course of the window.
Simon Mignolet’s erratic form has led to many of the Anfield faithful to call for a new custodian in the Reds’ team and Karius was signed from Mainz to offer competition for places in the Liverpool goal.
However, the German stopper suffered a broken hand in a pre-season friendly against Chelsea and as such has been on the sidelines for the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
But, it appears that Klopp wants Karius to be his number-one choice at Liverpool and that the new man will play instead of Mignolet this afternoon as Hull visit Merseyside.
