Liverpool are planning to make a move for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata in the summer transfer window, according to reports from the Metro.
Morata only joined Juventus from Real Madrid last summer, but has found it difficult to overtake Carlos Tevez in the Serie A side’s pecking order.
The Spainaird has only scored six goals so far in the current campaign, however the Reds are still keen to make the 22-year-old their marquee signing this summer.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have gone unbeaten in their last 10 games and are now only two points off the top-four, with the return of Daniel Sturridge from injury a huge factor in their revival.
But the former Swansea manager is still hoping to add reinforcements to his attack, as another injury to Sturridge could cause the Reds to struggle once again in the final third.
The Merseyside club will however have competition for Morata’s signature, with Arsenal also keen on striker’s services while former club Real Madrid could also bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu if they wish to activate his £25-million buy-back clause.
