Liverpool are looking to join Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Nantes star Jordan Veretout as they plot yet another addition to their squad, Express reports.
The 22-year-old was the subject of a £10.6million bid from Tottenham, but following speculation that talks have been halted, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to hijack the deal.
Rodgers is being tipped to continue his transfer activities this summer with the addition of the Frenchman as a potential replacement to club legend Steven Gerrard.
However, should they miss out on his services, the Anfield side have also named Newcastle United star Moussa Sissoko as another candidate for the defensive midfield position.
Spurs have also been linked with moves for Bayer Leverkusen’s Christoph Kramer as well as Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Bender.
Veretout featured 40 times in all competitions for his side last term, scoring a total of seven goals and providing another seven assists.
