Liverpool are already looking for a replacement for summer signing Mario Balotelli, with Villarreal’s Luciano Vietto a target for the Reds, according to reports from the Express.
Vietto is only in his first season with the Yellow Submarine after rejecting Liverpool’s advances last summer, and has netted 16 goals in all competitions during the current campaign.
Already being dubbed as the ‘next Sergio Aguero’, Vietto’s performances this season have attracted the attention of several top European sides, with the Reds scouting the highly-rated Argentinian the past few months.
And the 21-year-old is open to a potential move, saying: “If these great teams come forward and make an offer we’ll see.
“The offer would first have to be very good, but it would be very good for me and good for Villarreal.”
Villarreal currently value him at a moderate £12million, and is being seen as an economical alternative to struggling Italian striker Balotelli, who is expected to leave Anfield this summer after only scoring one league goal the entire season.
Serie A side Sampdoria and MLS outfit Orlando City are interested in signing Balotelli, which could see Liverpool sell the former AC Milan star for less than the £16million they paid for him back in August.
