Liverpool will be upping their search for a new goalkeeper as a number of names have surfaced in recent weeks, including that of Chelsea’s Petr Cech as well as Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic, Daily Mail reports.
Brendan Rodgers was believed to be edging towards the signature of Cologne shot stopper Timo Horn, but the 21-year-old recently revealed that he is likely to remain at his club.
Horn said: “I have said it more than once: I am in talks with FC Koln [regarding a new contract]. I want to sign on with my club.”
Simon Mignolet has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism in recent weeks due to his performance, prompting Rodgers to begin considering potential replacements.
Cech is also a top candidate due to his vast amount of experience during his many years with the Blues and could be keen towards a move due to his inability to get any playing time at Stamford Bridge.
Apart from him, Begovic is also being consider as he joins Mainz’s Loris Karius and Fiorentina’s Norberto Neto, all of whom could make a possible switch to Anfield in the near future.
