Manchester United have been boosted in their chase for Juventus star Arturo Vidal after the Chilean was backed by former Juve ace Nicola Amoruso to make an exit, Express reports.
Vidal has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer, but a switch collapsed due to Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal concern over the 27-year-old’s niggling knee injuries.
Van Gaal was therefore forced to look at alternatives in Roma’s Kevin Strootman and Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira, but it seems the Dutch boss is still keen on a move for a now fit Vidal this January.
And according to former Juventus striker Nicola Amoruso, Vidal is set to leave the club in order to search for a new challenge after winning three successive Scudettos with the Bianconeri.
He said: “It seems to me that there will soon be a split [between Vidal and Juventus].
“He is a player of value, but he needs to go and compete in other leagues.”
Vidal has scored 30 league goal in 99 appearances for Juventus since his move from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2011.
