Louis Saha is delighted to return to the North East and work with Martin O’Neill.
The 34 year old is nearing the end of his long and storied career in England and is delighted to back in the part of the country, where he first established his love of English football.
Saha spoke of his love of the North East to The Independent, “The spirit of English football is amazing and I realised that from an early age from my time at Newcastle.
“The people up here have something really special about them, they are really passionate about football.”
The opportunity to work with O’Neill was also too good for the unattached Frenchman to turn down, “Martin O’Neill has got all the passion, which is really great for his role.” The former Tottenham man added. “It’s great to be working for him and he is one of the big reasons why I signed here. He is a great philosopher.”
Saha faces tough competition for a first start for the club against Reading, with Steven Flecther close to completing a four year deal on Wearside.
